GPL benchmark question

Im in choosing a CPU/motherboard mode.  Im thinking about, together with a
Voodoo 3 card, either a celeron 466, AMD K6-2 450, or maybe even a K6-3 400.
I havent even though about motherboards yet.

I dont know what to look for when visiting sites like Toms Hardware.  Can
anyone help me with the decision?
