Can you test the wheel with latest wingman drivers for PC, to see if it
works?. It says its got support for the wheel now on PC, but i want to know
if the extra keys on the wheel works too?. Would be great if they did!

If you're asking if the LWFF works with a PS2 I can confirm that indeed it
does.

Is this the oldest LWFF? Red *** wheel, etc.  If so, can you give any
details about getting it working with the ps2 and what games support it?

It's the Force Feedback one.  It is red, yes.  Is it old?  I suppose, though
I think it's the newest one out.

To get the wheel to work I just plugged the USB into the PS2.  So far I've
only tried it on two games-- Gran Turismo and World Rally Championship.
Those are the only two racing titles I own for the PS2.

I think you mean the wheel created for the PS2 right ?

If so then the answer is yes.

The latest version of the wingman software (down loadable from Logitech)
allows control of everything; all buttons and split or combined axis.

I have had no problems with it in GPL, F1 2001 & 2002, Nascar Season 2002,
LFS and of course GT3.

I've seen two versions of the driving force wheel.

One is the older one, the one that came out when GT3 was new; I have this
one and I can verify that it works great.  The computer thinks it's the LWFF
red wheel.

I also have a LWFF red wheel (which I picked up later for less than half of
what I paid for the Driving Force) and the PS2 thinks it's the Driving Force
wheel.  Electronically, they're identical.

There is the newer Driving Force, though, that has PS2-style buttons.  It
looks and feels cheaper to me; and I thought I'd heard that it wasn't PC
compatible anymore.

Best bet for dual compatibility: Get a red wheel from eBay.

Do you have any problems with shifting and turning at the same time?
I read the customer reviews on this page, http://tinyurl.com/1umn, and
they seem to have this problem.  Maybe it's only with PS2.

I'm thinking about getting the LWFFGP, but if the PS2 Driving Force
works on PC, I might go for that, since it seems to have more buttons.

I've read about that too but I can't help you with this one.

The reason I use the Driving Force in the first place is that I need to use
the wheel mounted paddles (normally used as shifters) as the accelerator and
brake because of my physical limitations. (can't use pedals)  So I drive
mostly an automatic transmission.

I have not noticed any problems when acceleratng or braking in a turn but
then again if you are in a situation where you have to brake or accelerate
while near full lock you have more problems then just a glitch in the
equipment.  ;o)

I've just noticed something, the Driving Force doesn't come with
pedals?  How are the paddle shifters?  They look better than the ones
on the LWFFGP.

Actually my Driving Force did come with pedals.  I bought it about 6-8 weeks
ago so maybe we are talking different models here.

The paddles are really great for analog stuff (accelerator and brakes) but
probably some of the 10 other switches ( + D Pad ) would be better for gear
switching. There are 2 positioned perfectly for thumb use.  The throw length
of the paddles might be a bit long.

I originally bought a Thrustmaster Modena 360 (again because it has analog
paddles ) but kept breaking the paddle springs (about 2 weeks of use).  Went
throught three of them (on warranty) before giving up and getting the DF.
Much happier now.

There are 2 red Logitech wheels.  The LWFF has a red ***ized wheel
(soft/squishy) that is ENTIRELY red and has lever type paddle shifters (not
just buttons).  Another noticeable feature is that it's not "direct" USB, it
uses a serial to USB adapter (the likely culprit for PS2 failure).  This
model has never been reported to work with the PS2.  The later model known
as the Logitech Wingman Formula Force GP, which is known to work with the
PS2, has red accents (mostly red), poor paddle shifter buttons, and is ONLY
USB.  Which exactly do you have?

Being specific is significant since you're apparently the first to report
that the "OLD" LWFF works with a PS2.  I'm guessing you have the later model
and didn't perform any LWFF miracles? ;0)

Thanks for your answer!. I was gonna get a new LWFFGP yesterday, when i
noticed that no stores sells them anymore around here :(
They only have the Momo (which pedals are much worse then the LWFFGP, but
superiour wheel), and the LW Driving force, which costs 3 times less btw
then the momo.
Now i will have enough keys too on the wheel for some years ahead :D

The only thing i diskliked which was much worse then the LWFFGP is the
paddleshifter. WHY did they remove the buttons for teh shifting?, those
paddles stinks imo. I loved that it was buttons :/.. maybe i can make a
hybrid with my old LWFFGP and the new driving force.. taking the backside
from my old wheel, and the new front ..
