How many Nascar roadcourses are there?

by turnc » Sun, 20 May 2001 01:58:59

Twin Ring Motegi held a NASCAR exhibition race in 1998. Mike Skinner won the
event. It was run on the oval and not the road course sections. Suzuka held
exhibition events in '96 and '97. They were won by Rusty Wallace and Jeff
Gordon respectively. The races hosted drivers from WC, BGN,CTS, and
international drivers.

As for NASCAR road courses. The only road courses are Watkins Glen and Sears
Point for the 2001 season in all of the 3 top divisions. Prior to 2001,
NASCAR road courses have also included Portland, Oregon / Topeka, Kansas and
Riverside, California. They even held NASCAR exhibition races at ***ia
International Raceway ( www.virclub.com ) back in the day.

No, they didn't run Twin Ring Motegi clockwise. The race was a 250 lap event
ran in the NASCAR traditonal counter-clockwise fashion.

> Yeah...and they turned that track into a right-turn oval.
