I know that I have seen several posts from people who have had the
same problem with a spring breaking, but I thought that it wouldn't
happen to me!!  Well, guess what! It happened. A spring in the gas
pedal has broken and left me stranded.  Any help on where to pick up a
new spring would be appreciated.

Try http://www.thrustmaster.com; the problem is that they're
out of stock! I've been waiting almost a month for the damn things.

Gotta make you wonder...hopefully they'll replace the springs
with some part that wears better.

The new springs are thinner gauge wire and have three turns on the coil.  They also come with new thinner gears to make room for the thicker coil.  Also, the if you use the new springs on both pedals, the tension on brake and throttle will be equal, unliike the old springs where the brake had more tension.

Just contact Thrustmaster and they will send you out the newly designed
springs (should hold up to the stress alot better).  There should be no
charge!

Call Thrustmaster tech support. They'll send them right out. Best tech
support I ever dealt with and Thrustmaster REALLY stands behind their
product! No I don't work for them, but I am a user of their products.

Go to Thrustmaster's home page and in the customer support section there
is a form to fill out to get repair parts i.e. springs mailed to you.  I
had a spring break on my T1 and within a week recieved a pack of 4.  My
friends used them all up and yesteday found myself doing the whole process
again now for my T2.  Great support from TM just wish the springs wouldn't
break in the first place... Oh well nothin's perfect...

I learned a trick, from an old fart in Australia, that will help those
springs last a lot longer. Get six coins (I am using pennies) and insert
three under the back of each peddle in between the base plate and the
peddle stops. This shortens the throw of the peddle and lengthens the life
of the spring. I did this and haven't had to write to TM in months.
