My Thrustmaster T2 busts a pedal spring and I can't get replacements anymore

by Me » Mon, 20 Sep 1999 04:00:00

I went to www.thrustmaster.com and registered my Formula T2 to order a new
pedal spring only to get this message:

This product has not been manufactured in over 1 year and is most likely out
of warranty. Please call our Customer Service group at 503.615.3200 M-TH
7AM-6PM, F 9AM-6PM Pacific Time for parts and repair information. Please
have your receipt from the purchase ready as it is your proof of warranty.

Anyone know how I can fix my T2? It's not under warranty anymore. I'm
tempted to get a FF wheel, but I can't afford one right now.

When my pedal spring broke i went to the hardware store and bought a nice pull
spring for about a buck, stuck him in there and it works great....It will never
brake again.

The same thing happened to me about 2 months ago.  I called that
number and asked about parts for a T2.  Turns out that yes, you can
still get T2 parts - but not for much longer, and not from the web.
Turns out the registration info I entered 5 mins previously on the
website goes into the live database, so they already had all my
shipping info, etc - first time I've ever seen that.  Got my spring
about 2 weeks later, and I'm set :)

If anybody is prepared to send me one of their broken T2
springs, I will look at making replacements.

So, did you CALL them?  The springs SHOULDN'T cost that much, and you can get
back to racing...<g>

as a fill in 'til you get some proper springs, you can bend some bicycle
spokes around a similar sized bar, these usually last a few weeks and
make a fairly good temporary spring, they wont be as hard as your used
to but at least you can then race your fav games.
