NFS and Pro Pedals: Thrustmaster T2 adapter wiring?

by Collier Ch » Thu, 07 Dec 1995 04:00:00

I'm putting together the information needed to adapt the CH Product Pro Pedals
for use with Need For Speed.  Everything is straightforward, except I'm curious
on how the Thrustmaster T2 brake pedal behaves.

Based on the calibration method I heard of for the T2 (turn wheel left/right, press
gas pedal all the way, release, and hit gearshift), it seems that the T2 white
adapter plug may connect the brake pedal up as a crude Button 2.

Can anyone confirm this?   One method may be to perform braking tests with ABS
off, and seeing if you can stop without locking up.

I wanted pedals because I wanted a more analog response to braking input.
A brake button is like slamming on the brake pedal.  I think that I have a
wiring that will give both the brake and gas pedals analog input into NFS.

Thanks,

Collier

Your calibration method is off. You turn the wheel, press the gas, press the brake.
All the adapter does is rewire the pedals to the y axis of joystick one as opposed
to the x axis of joystick two.

Actually.. The T2 when using the white adapter treats the pedal unit
as the Y-axis on joystick 1. The "gas" pedal is in the positive plane
and the "brake" pedal is in the negative plane.

I own a T1; but, I'm almost POSITIVE that it is the same system..

Hope this helps..
