Thanks forever if you do that!
1) Select "Control Method."
2) Select "Not Used."
3) Select "Advanced Menu."
4) Select "Joystick A Horiz" for Steering Device.
5) Select "Analog" for Steering Mode.
6) Select "Joystick B Horiz" for Acceleration Device.
7) Select "Analog" for Acceleration Mode.
8) Select "Joystick B Horiz" for Brake Device.
9) Select "Switched" for Braking Mode.
10) Select "Control Driven Calibration" for Control Method.
Do not touch any other settings. You can edit the set name to say "T2"
or "TMaster" and then save the file.
Now calibrate the device, and your T2 should work.

I do wish you would have included this in the manual or the README file.
I spent more than a half hour before I got it working. And I think
I got tep 10 wrong.

Thank you for an excellent sim. This sim believe it or not is one of
the major reasons I purchased a puter 2 1/2 years ago. hehehe I have
been waiting a long time.<G>
Two questions. Is it possible to not have the brakes lock everytime
you press z? Wouldnt it be alot better to have it be progressive in
that when you first press it the brakes build pressure until they lock
a second or so later. That way you could press it repeatably for heavy
braking. Also Im having a problem using the auto brakes in that they
lock up unless you are perfectly on line. Makes it difficult to
overtake. And until I figure out how to brake without locking up the
brakes Im stuck using the auto brake.
Been thinkin about using the WC2 as a brake as well so may have a go
at that. Any suggestions on setting that up. I currently have the FCS
as the steering wheel and the WCS2 as the throttle. Would it be
possible to have the forward half of the travel be the throttle and
the rear half as the brake? That would take care of the locking
brakes. Umm maybe the RCS could be used....umm.
Thanks for any help. This is all I hoped it would be.

Scratch that the WCS2 fix works like a charm. Of course I still suck
at manual braking........oooohhhhh shiiiiiiittttt here comes that
hairpin and Im going 2 million miles an hour......

One query on this,
Why would the braking device be swutched.. i.e. digital on/off.
Surely you want analog braking, not just on or off.

Yeah, I too thought you would want analog braking just as much as youd want analog
throttle. I dont own a T2, but Im planning to buy one. Now, if theres no analog
braking Ill not even bother thinking about buying a T2. Is this the case?

papadoc:
Get yourself a pair of rudders (CH double as a throttle/break better
than RCS). You know you are gonna need em anyway as soon as Red
Baron2 comes out. And if you still have your Longbow box it should
have a 10$ rebate in it :)

On the GP2 disk there is a Thrustmaster 2 setup already there in the
GPFILES directory called T2.CON, just load that up and it sets up
everything automatically then just calibrate. It sets braking to
Analogue by the way which is much better cause you can vary the way in
which you break without stop starting, ie applying little pressure or
applying full presure on a straight to stop quickly, applying full
presure around a corner will cause you to spin etc but little pressure
often helps to straighten the car or to intentionally spin the backs
around a little etc....With the right combo of throtle and braking you
cna get some good cornering speed in switch mode it doesn't seem to
work the same and stopping distrances are longer I found.

I'm suprised the Microsoft Support person didn't just say to load the
T2.CON file from the CD instead of going through step by step
instructions on how to set it up, sounds a little weird to me.

Thanks Gabriel, but .... isn't there a t2.con file on the CD in the
directory GPFILES? Isn't it better to use this?
