Gp2- Setups anyone ?

by Gregory Descho » Sun, 28 Jul 1996 04:00:00

   Hi all,

I am trying to find a page with setups for all GPs, so far, I found lots
of pages with nice pictures and announcements like "GP2 is out" (or
better, is coming soon !)..no shit....;-) . Anyway, is the re a link to a
page with good setups anywhere ?

Too many options for me to explore for now in the setups menu, I still
don;t understand the concept of a packer or the use of the rebound spring
(haven't really noticed any bump yet, except in my framerate!!!!), The
thing is I am dricing absolutely as fast as I can on some tracks and still
am off the pace by a second or so at mid difficulty level (original
setups, at least on the 5 tracks I know!) I will try to play with the
wings but I don;t have a clue as far as springs and roll bars !  TIA !
Greg.

I tried several circuits, lowered the wings, and found that there was a
lot of understeer. Then look in the manual.. To correct understeer you
have to stiffen the rear anti-roll-bars... (+soften front) AND IT WORKS
:-)))
Furthermore I found out, that you have much more grip with a low
ride-height (Obvious). To obtain that, you HAVE to use the packers (To
avoid wearing the plank). Look at the ride-height data.
The standard setup-is way off pace, you have to fiddle around. But with
a little practice, it works. ;-)
About the spring settings.... Haven't got the slightest clou....

Dave Gymer is in the process of seting up "HoF2 - Son of HoF".  I
imagine when it is up and running this will be the place where all the
quickest drivers might let us have their set ups if we grovel nicely
;-)  I cant remember the URL but there is a post about here
somewhere...
