The MULTI.EXE version of NASCAR used for Hawaii is *much* less sensitive to
cautions than NASCAR.EXE. I've seen cars do full 360's, slam into the wall
and damage a wheel, two cars banging together and no cautions. In some
cases, it's a little too insensitive. We had a Late Night race at Bristol
with a driver pinned against the wall facing the wrong way and no caution
flag. He tried to get turned around during a break in the traffic, but got
T-boned. That's one time when I would have preferred to see a caution.
Anyway, the point I was trying to make is that I think Papyrus has been
testing a lot of new ideas with MULTI.EXE, and you can probably expect to
see those ideas make it to NASCAR 2. This would include less sensitive
caution flags, the ability to abort repairs in the pits to keep from going
a lap down, and a tow truck to haul you back to your pits if you damage a
wheel.
