A question about caution flags, NCR.

I may be wrong but it seems that I remember that in nascar you don't
lose position if you pit during a caution flag and make it back out
before green flag. But in NCR I see where you definetly lose
positions. Is this a glitch or did nascar change the rules at some
point in the last few years and I missed it?

As far as I know you always have been able to gain or lose places in the
pits during cautions.  People just assume that since there is a yellow
flag everyone will come in, pit, and go back out in the same order.  Of
course this doesn't always happen.

There's no guarantee in NASCAR (real or simulated) you will not lose a
position. The cars line up for the restart in the order they cross the line
at the end of pit road. Papyrus' simulation is not entirely faithful, in
that in real NASCAR, if you don't beat the pace car to the line, you have
to wait for the end of the caution line to go by. In the simulation, you
fall directly behind the car that passed the line ahead of you.
