Can anyone tell me if there is a demo for destruction derby 2?  If there
is, where is it.

Yes , there is one.  I found it on GameSpot, www.gamespot.com.

Not all that great, some cool features, but with all the problems I've
heard people have, I'm not sure it's worth it.

Try    www.avault.com/pcrl  I started there, linked to Microforum
(can't remember their address), and I think I saw DD2 there.
I also snagged the demo of Road Rash.
