Rallisport: Graphics choppy randomly - anyone else with this problem?

I have a very fast machine
P4-2.8
400mhz 1GB RAM
GF4 4400 (clocked to 290/650)

Pleaying rallisport at 640x480 on my HDTV with 4x AA and 4x AF

I notice at times, the frame rate suddenly - for no apparent reason - drops
to 1-2 FPS for a second. You can see this EVERY TIME at the start of the
race as it zooms in on your car. Even turning off AA and AF it still does
this while leaving the graphics on HIGH.

Anyone else figure out what is causing this? My friend has a ATI 9700 and
has the exact same problem (his is 3Ghz).

amd1.2 -
leadtek gf3ti200 128mb

yep happens here too, and only as the camera comes up to the car
during the start of a race, but its perfect during the race - sometimes it
doesn't happen when loading another track during the same session -
so i figured it was some texture/cache problem in the game upon first
loading a track - it even does it when there's no other cars on the track
ie: time trial or something

I get this a little bit but not much at all. When I tried out a 9700 Pro
for a few days, the stuttering was terrible. RSC was unplayable at any
res. Put my GF3Ti500 back in and all is near smooth again.
