Hi Guys,

My son just got a new PC (PIII-1Ghz) with this video board (32MB). With is
the best version for the detonators driver to get top performance on D3D and
OpenGL? And, with options should I be using to get this performance?

Thanks,

Brian

I'm not sure of the driver version, but I would suspect an older set like
something from the 7's or 12's.  The TnT is an old old old card.(did I
mention it was old?)  He will probably find some games scream along at a
nice fast clip and others will bog down horribly.
It will work, but newer heavily graphic intensive games like F1 2001 or Nr
2002 will abuse the TnT.
Have him go to madonion.com and dload the 2000 benchmark(NOT the 2001) and
run that.  That will give him an indication of what the system can do.  From
there it's just a matter of trial and error and then re-benchmarking, to see
which driver set improves things.

Thanks, I will try 12.41 (he is using 21.83). As for the graphics card, he
has received the computer as a gift, so he didn't had a choise. Let's see
what it can do before replacing it.

For now, it is running F1CS2000, Return to Castle Wolfstein, Civilization 3,
Baldur's Gate 2, Half-Life: Counterstrike without any problems and with very
good framerate. OpenGL is way better than D3D, is this correct?

I just installed the most recent versions of the nvidia drivers for a
32mb tnt2 card i put in my brother's p.c. and the drivers worked fine.
The most recent version of the nvidia drivers cover all graphics chips
all the way back to the TNT2 and beyond.

hth,
jeff
