My bet would be yes and no.  It will work but you will need to run in
software mode of with a glide "wrapper"  either way the graphics will leave
a lot to be desired.  Smoothness will not be a problem , but the graphics
are in my opinion essential for immersion

Not true. I would bet the opengl drivers on www.papy.com will work with
the TNT2 just like they work with the TNT.  Probably faster ;-)

Works with the two beta TNT 2's I have tested with it. Can't tell you
the brands cause of non disclosure.

The new OpenGL drivers fix most of the problems as far as I could see but I
really didn't get enough of a go as I had other things I was getting paid for
to test in a limited time. Still, at least the mirros didn;t reduce the FPS to
5 like the older drivers did.

Can you tell us about the performance improvement over the regular TNT,
if any?

If the TNT2 isn't much of an improvement over the TNT, I'll probably
spring for a voodoo3, just for GPL ;-)

so he doesn't have to answer that... yes it would be an infringement on his
NDA, telling us that it dosn't over perform it much would damage sales
potentially.

so don't answer that Mark :)

The basic TNT 2 isn't much of an improvement with current games in terms of
speed but the TNT 2 Ultras are heaps faster than the TNT. As for future
games, look at Toms Hardware page where the first head to head tests of TNT
2 vs Voodoo 3 running the Quake 3 test software are listed. Not only is the
TNT 2 faster in all its forms, including the base TNT 2 card, than the
Voodoo 3's tested, but the graphics quality craps all over the Voodoo 3. As
I have said before.... Voodoo 3 will give you more FPS with current games
but will be the same speed or slower than TNT 2 Ultras with future games and
there is no way to make the Voodoo 3 graphics look as good or to make the
Voodoo 3 support the advanced functions that future games will utilise.

Unless I state figures and if I make sure I only refer to a current game I am
okay. The TNT 2 is aimed for future games and this is where their concern is. I
won't mention brands, drivers or PC configuration though.

Some of these NDA's last for years after the product is actually released!
Gotta read the fineprint.....
