N2 FIXED!

N2 FIXED!

by Lonnie Andre Min » Sat, 20 Sep 1997 04:00:00

Earlier this week, I posted a plea for help with my system after a WIN95
upgrade tinkered with my smooth running sims. I was suprized at how many
of you responded and offered suggestions.  Thanks to Tony Gaylord, Brian
Fox, Andy McCardle "BpB1" and especially Nigel Nichols.  Nigel went the
extra mile on this one!  Your suggestions put me on the path to
recovery!  Also, thanks to Sierra for their prompt answer to my
inquiry.  Hey, it's people and companies like these that make simming a
great "sport"!

I'm happy to report that after countless hours trying this and that, all
my favorite racing sims are now perculating fine, and blasting me out
with SOUND! (Yahoo! Finally!)

As a matter of fact, I've stumbled onto something that may be of help to
those of you that have not been happy with the sound levels in N2.  I
was long ago tired of the "turn on the computer, wait for Win to load,
close Win, wait for DOS... play games" routine, and the solution to my
WIN95 dialema also gave me a 50-75% boost in all sound volumes, in all
my games.  My "sound fix" was solved when I created a systems boot disk
from which I now load directly to DOS for my sims.  Upon successful
writing/changing start-up commands, for some reason, I now have POWERFUL
sound in all of my sims.  As a matter of fact, now I can "rattle the
windows" with N2 just like the old N1! It's great.  I don't know what
made the difference... but it's super!  If you're interested in more
info, I'll be gald to answer any questions I can, simply email me or
leave a post.

Thanks And God Bless..

Andre

Once again... thanks to all.

BTW, the r.a.s. HAS changed since many months ago... much for the
better.  There doesn't seem to be anywhere near as many of the stupid

here as often.  THANK GOD!  Intelligent life IS found here now!

What you have stumbled upon Andre, is that you turned up your soundcard
with dos commands. You need to do the same with Win95. Double click the
speaker icon in your tray... then you can adjust your win95 levels...
