Shifters? Act Labs ... others?

Are there any other shifters out there other than the one from Act Labs (GPL
USB Shifter)?  Does the GPL USB Shifter hold up better than what I've read
about their performance pedals? Any issues using this along with the
original (red) Logitech Wingman Formula Force?

Thanks,
Russell

I've got both GPL usb shifter and 3 peddle unit and a Logitech Force
Feedback Wheel. The GPL shifter is superb and great with GPL and GTR2002,
thought it might be difficult to use but in fact I find it even easier than
paddles (at least I know what gear I'm in!) Can't quite get used to the act
labs peddles as you have to right foot brake so I'm using the Logitech ones
complete with squash ball under the brake, which although has short travel
feels very good.

Certainly recomend the GPL usb it really adds to sims racing and works very
well.

Some people have built h-shifters that connect to either the gameport or USB (do
a search for h-shifter in Google, and check the racesimcentral->hardware->build
your own forum). They work fine as long as the game supports 2 controllers.

You have the japanese manufacturer 'Frex' -  but they dain't got no european
or (afaik) american distibutor so the freight cost are expensive...  so are
the products I believe (althought they look good too)

You'll find them at http://www.frex.com/gp/
