I recently set out to find an ICR2 series to run in and found that
there are very few to choose from. I have been around online raceing
since the World Circuit days on prodigy, Ralf Southard's ICRS on AOL
and this is my third season in Tim Wortman's NASSCAR series.
I also was director of AOL's first season of GSNC.
One thing you have never had to worry about when running in an online
series is making the field, a very realistic part of racing. Only the
fastest cars and drivers in the world get to take part.
Let me introduce you to ICRCS (IndyCar Racing Championship Series)
This is how it works:
You will have to get on the ICRCS mailing list. You will then be
e-mailed with qualifying settings and a drivers2.txt file. The
qualifying session will actually be a very short race with only one
opponent (a very strong one that can get in your way). You must save
the replay from the green to checkered flag. (A handful of laps with
one opponent should present no problem with replays). You would then
save the .stn file per ave. speed, like this: 99p604.stn ( the p
stands for point) E-mail the .stn file to me. The files will be scaned
and the fastest times will make the race. If you do make the race, you
may be required to send the replay. When the field has been
determined, those making it will be mailed the race settings.
I realize that some will say that this is not right, that they can not
make the races. Anyone can make a qualifying attempt. Just because you
can't make one race does'nt mean you can't make another.
As you can see, you don't just have the challenge of the race, you
first have to get in the race.
This series is for the best on the internet. Could that be you?

rules and the ICRCS pages should be up in a day or two.
The first race will be Michigan to allow for plenty of qualifying
attempts.
