F1C setup assistance

Ok,
I installed F1C this evening, and so far really like it. The FF is
excellent, graphics look great, and I really like the physics so far.

I have been working on a setup for Germany, basically all I have done is
shortened the gearing ratios, reduced the starting fuel load,  lowered the
ride height, and lowered the front and rear spoilers. I am using the soft
tire compound, testing in dry conditions. My times right now are in the 1:24
range,  is this getting close to being competitive, or do I have a ways to
go?

Thanks,

Is that Nurburgring or Hockenheim?

You can judge by the times the AI are doing in your sessions, esp
qualifying.

Well put it this way last years Hockenheim (the updated track) showed
qualifying times between 1m14.389s and 1m19.775s so its not bad but dont
worry I for one never get anywhere near the actual F1 times and you will
probably find you will have to reduce the AI strength to around 80-85% to
get into the qualifying times somewhere. Its very difficult becuase actually
driving a real car and simulating the event are very different - I
personally think it would be easier to get closer to the real times in  a
real car than in a simulation as you can feel the traction better etc. Plus
the actual mechanical and electrical complexities of real F1 cars are
probably not entirely accurately protrayed in the game.

Dont worry about it just have a look at some F1 Challenge sites showing
other players times and try to get close to them.

I have got it down to 1:22 now, still working on it.
