I've tried it in OGL and the lighting was bizarre.  The track worked
fine driving-wise (didn't try the AI, I believe Jan said the tracks
need a new AI file) but my car was basically pitch black inside and
outside for most of the lap (at Laguna Seca that is, haven't tried
others).

Pre GPL tracks will probably need some major overhaul to work properly

"Looks to me as if he's driving on a pre GPL era converted track, which
all have issues with the new track lighting engine in NR2003. Basically
those tracks attempt to render the suns position at ground level in what
ever direction is specified in the track.ini so you end up with dark
***pits, and very long funky looking car shadows.

Figured as much, no word on this from Dave yet so I don't even know if
it's fixable, let alone when, he's too busy working on the Ring....:-)

Which is surprisingly entertaining to drive in a Nascar :-)

Well trouble no more!  Pat Lindqvist just posted an early beta 'Ring
conversion for Netkar in the RSC Netkar forum.  Gotta tell you though;
downforce kinda takes the drama out of Flugplatz... ;-)

  That's how I felt when I ran a GTR Viper down the backstretch at
Rouen...No drama.  Of course it was barely more than a ribbon of road with
some trees, but it is possible to move the tracks.  Only a matter of time.
