Whenever I run N3 I get alot of static type noise from the
game....it's almost like an old vinyl record with the popping and
hissing...

Any fixes??? I have tried running it with "no effects" and still
get hiss......I know this was a topic when the game first came out
but I sort of missed the answers...please help...

I have heard if you uncheck DMA on your hard drives, that this popping
noise will go away . Course your drives will slow a tad but which one do
you want worse

I'm not sure if I have a "Fix" for you but I can say that on my system with
an SB16, will be a "Live" tomorrow, I have the pop and hiss when I run with
my voodoo card. If I run it D3D I have no pop and hiss.

I happen to prefer the look and speed of my voodoo but I'm afraid now the
sound card that I thought would fix the problem, won't.

I believe its some sort of electromagnetic interference caused by
something related to USB and the fact the you should if possible (not
my case) leave the last free pci slot empty. And do not have the
sblive in slot 1 specially if you have USB and an AGP card
installed.But the hissing never went until I minimized the
interference around the pc, mobile phones, tv, cables power sockets,
all these devices and lot of others can cause a lot of interference
in a number of different ways.

Well, if that's the case I'm SOL cause my system has no free PCI's. AGP
Video, Voodoo, Satellite Receiver Card, SB-Live now, AHA-2940UW. Hmmmm.
