RASCAR R.I.P.

Actually, that's not entirely accurate.  I'm giving up as far as MY
participation...  I've grown tired of all the shit flying from both sides, and
cheap shots from the sidelines.  It seems that the 'simple' solution would be
to fire John.  However, I have no intention of doing that.  Reason?  I actually
agreed with what he was trying to do.  To pretend that he didn't have my vote
of confidence would be hypocritical.  As I alluded to before, you guys didn't
see EVERYTHING that he wanted to put in the rules.  I vetoed a couple of
things, and he accepted that.

Bottom line, I've lost the desire to put any more effort into keeping this
thing afloat.  It isn't worth it anymore, especially since I'm always running
in the back of the field.  John, if you want to continue it, that's your
choice.  I wish you well.  I appreciate the work that you, Ed, and Jan have
done.  I'm going back to my original plan - running occasional 100% online
races for those who like the challenge.  This will include N2k3, F1C, and of
course, GPL...

Maybe David was right, and I'm *not* a good league admin.  Well, at least I
tried, which is more than the majority here did.  You won't have to worry about
me trying ever again.  For those of you who supported us in this venture for
this long, many thanks.  For those who wanted it to fail, then I guess you're
happy little kiddies now...

Eldred
p.s. Since I am no longer involved in the running of RASCAR, I won't respond to
any more threads on the newsgroup.  It wouldn't be my place to do so.  If you
have anything that requires an anwser from me, I suggest you use e-mail.

Well to be fired you would need to have the job in the first place :)

People just seem to want a more democratical system to race with.  It's not
a league, never forget that.  It's just a place to race, and have fun with
people of this NG.

Tsk tsk Eldred, that's not the point of racing.  Only 1 person wins a race.
Everybody else looses.  It's not important if you do or not.

Sorry to see you go Eldred. I for one enjoyed running with you at the
rear of the pack and always appreciated your donation of the server. I knew
this was coming as it did the same last year. Congrats to the ones who kept
the flames going and could not walk away without sinking the ship. I do not
blame Eldred for his actions because he did what any other volunteer would
do when the people you are helping do nothing except complain and bicker
like a bunch of women. (not politically correct)
Refraining your tongue (typing) is something that some need to work on
(anyone of you related to Kurt B #97).

Sorry, to hear that Eldred. It's a sad testament to too many displaced
egos. Its too bad we don't have psychiatrists and psychologists reading
this NG. The wouldn't have to go looking for customers!

Real sorry to hear that Eldred, just wish you would reconsider.

The few who complained will use this as an excuse to bully a nice guy like you
every single time.  And that's a shame.

Well, no server means no league because I can't host more than 20.

Well, he didn't actually say we couldn't use his server. If we can't, then
that's bothersome, but it's a problem we can actually do something about.

Nope - it's official. RASCAR is dead. The victory goes to Mitch and
Dave who stopped at nothing to try to destroy my authority as a
league admin, right up to the point that it destroyed the league
itself.

Yeah, what he said.   ;o\

Seriously, Eldred, thanks for all the work & effort, you are one of the Good
Guys.

You need to be a comedian not a league admin.

Its no victory for me despite anything you may think.  You brought this all
on yourself as self-appointed dictator without much help from David or I.

As I said many times, I appreciate everything both you and Eldred did for
RASCAR right up till you started deciding rules and penalties.  You went WAY
to far period.   You know it but will never admit it.  Another trait that
doesnt lend itself well to leadership.

Buh-Bye

Don't let them win John, please. Two guys can't be allowed to deny 48 others
their racing enjoyment.

I'm not willing to let RASCAR die, but I can't keep it going on my own. The
server thing is a non-issue. Either I find a community one or I rent one
(can't be *that* expensive, surely), at least until the end of the season.

Might have to skip Darlington (personally, I like the track, but no great
loss the larger scheme of things) to get it set up, but that's it.

I really have a hard time believing this is actually coming from you Jan.
JS brought this all on himself.  And US!

Man, I really thought you were a fair minded guy.  Guess not.

It's nice to hear that you think John's behavior yesterday in practice was
right and fair.
