Nope i`m on a fresh xp install with almost nothing installed. My Gpl folder
is 3 years old and 500 megs and there has never been
any problems with it before now, used xp for 6 mnd`s and suddenly gpl would
not start from d partition where it has been for "years".
Very strange.

Ah yes...have the same thing here...
One day it works....change nothing..the next day it doesn't.
I did find out once what the cause was...had something to do with one
of the ini files...or the driver files...
Anyways..one of the files that gets modified by the game when you play
it.
My guess is something goes wrong when playing and something not quite
right gets written to a file...and the next GPL start the exe can't
deal with the mistake in that certain file...
Pisser is...i can't remember which file it was anymore...so bound by a
reinstall here too..

GPL needs indexing turned on for the drive the it is installed on (and maybe
the boot Drive) if using Win XP and NTFS. It might be that. Just a
thought.

As was stated elsewhere, indexing MUST be turned on in order for GPL to
run on a NTFS drive under XP.
