I installed IE5 on my computer (that's the only thing I've done since
this happened) and after surfing, started up GP3. It crashed and
continues to do so. An error message comes up, "illegal action" and
will not go any further. I even uninstalled GP3 and re-installed it
and still no go...
I am very depressed now, I need to race!

Don't know whether the IE5 installation mucks about with the DirectX
installation, but it is not unlikely -- it does muck about with A LOT of
things! If so, the current DirectX may conflict with sound card or video
card drivers. Check DirectX version, look into upgrading DirectX and/or
install latest driver versions until you find a new combination that
works... :/
