Processor upgrade - CBENCH measurements

This past weekend, I upgraded my processor.  I was running a Pentium
90 Mhz.  The Intel motherboard has a jumper setting for 75 Mhz, 90
Mhz, and 100 Mhz.  I decided to get the overdrive processor that
upgrades from 100 to 166.  I had to move the jumper from 90 to 100,
then install the new 100/166 overdrive.

I measured before and after performance with CBENCH, which includes
BENCH.EXE for VGA measurements and SVGABNCH.EXE for SVGA measurements.

This system has a Diamond Viper PCI video board.

BEFORE (Pentium 90 Mhz)
   BENCH.EXE    (VGA)  57.0 = 34.2 frames per second
   SVGABNCH.EXE (SVGA) 34.6 = 20.7 frames per second
AFTER (Pentium 100/166 Mhz)
   BENCH.EXE    (VGA)  67.6 = 40.6 frames per second
   SVGABNCH.EXE (SVGA) 48.1 = 28.9 frames per second

I tried both NASCAR and the N2DEMO with the new processor.  There was
a noticeable frame rate improvement.  I thought I was running near 30
fps in Nascar with almost everything turned off.  I was obviously
wrong, given the amount of video improvement with the same settings.
I now conclude that I am running the full 30 fps since I can support
SOME graphics options at the auto setting and they stay on 100% of the
time.

How does the Diamond Viper PCI board compare to other PCI video
boards?

Any advice to help get better frame rates with more graphic options
turned on?

How does it compare? It doesnt! It sucks! 67 in VGA? My P100 and Tseng
ET4000W32/p 2megs gets a 137!
a 48 in SVGA on a P166 overdrive? I've seen pentium 120's that get more!
LAME LAME LAME!
The only thing it WAS good at at the time was Windows. Now that cards
like Matrox Mill' and Tseng 6000 dominate the market, the viper might as
well be used as a mug bottom, and an expensive one at that!

That is one waste of money/circuitry!
