Will there ever be a camera angle editor for F1GP?
The preset angles are all shite, and all you can see is a chunky VGA
pixel which is meant to be a racing car. Also, are the angles going
to be improved for Grand Prix 2?
Does anyone know?

Cheerz,

Dave Bowers.

Well, yes.  I've just passed Dave Gymer the information to change the height
of the external view cameras (that affects chase/reverse chase and trackside).
I've also told him how to change the zoom factor of the chase/reverse chase
cameras.  Expect to see a new addition to GPTOOLS.

These techniques could be used to great effect on the Amiga. However, on the
PC it seems to work a little differently.  However, what you can get is a
chase view that is much closer to the ground, and nearer to your car (or the
opposite if you wish).  As the camera height setting also affects the track
side cameras, on the right circuits, the cars pass by a lot closer than
before.

You'll also be able to do this using my forthcoming Windows based editor,
which will be released next week sometime.

The thing I would like to see somebody do is to alter the 'chance' of
somebody trying to outbrake another car.  99% of the time, a car will
just follow the leading car into the corner and never try to outbrake
them.  Is it possible to adjust this or is it based on too many variables?

Well, we already know (thanks to I think Rob Buis) how to change the track
files to give the computer cars a better set-up at each circuit.  It would
be sensible that there would be braking distance figures stored somewhere
for each circuit.  However, I guess it would be a lot of hassle to find
and change the braking point for each corner of every circuit, and with
F1GP II coming soon ...

I find that by turning up the computer cars grip to 10+ makes them harder
to outbrake.

I believe you missed the point.  I mean the AI cars out-braking ME or
another AI car.  How many times have you seen a faster car pull out of a
draft to go by, but then they get too close to the corner and instead of
out-braking the other car, the faster car will just fall back in behind
him and try again later.

It is very seldom that the AI cars try to out-brake anything.  I was just
wondering if it was easy to alter the chances of the AI trying to
out-brake ANYbody?

PS - Yes, a grip of 10 better.  The highest grip I use is currently
33 at Germany and it is still VERY easy to out-brake the AI.  Getting
close enough to do it is another story.  ;)

There is one for the Amiga version, and I'm sure it can be done on the
PC too.

Yeah, I've seen the Amiga version on your pages.
