C'mon, one of you guys must have sprung for it.
I was tempted when I saw it just because the damn things are so weird.

I absolutely love this game! The varied cars and tracks and the huge amount of
setup options make this game a steal! I especially love the fact that the
alligators try to eat your car. lol
Keeping in mind that it is strictly an arcade racer, game play is
really fairly decent, the vehicles all handle differently, and the in-
game graphics have some nice touches. Nothing really new or
innovative, but I'd say it's all "okay," from strictly an arcade
perspective.
What makes PC Gamer's "6" rating seem fair to me is the fact that for
$19 (suggested retail -- and what I paid at CompUSA), you get two (2)
tracks and four (4) vehicles. That's it. No mirrored tracks, no
running them in reverse, nothing. All in all, other than being a
completely different topic with vehicles and a track surfaces that
you've never seen in any other game, I really felt like this game
doesn't offer as much in terms of outright fun and playability (and,
even more important, REplayability) as the Dirt Track Racing demo did,
for example. That's not an impression I want to come away with after
spending $19, though.
Swamp Buggy Racing isn't entirely bad, but it does feel like they
should have gone just a *little* further and provided at least 5 or 6
tracks for some added diversity and value. As it is, it feels too much
like a demo.
That said, it would be a great game if you have younger racers in the
family who wanted to have a fast, simple, and graphically-flashy
driving game to play around with.
I still hold out hope that Brian and Wizard Works try harder to
reproduce their successes with Dirt Track Racing in order to deliver us
more high-quality racing titles along those lines in the future --
Swamp Buggy Racing might not be the worst game ever, but it's
definitely not a worthy follow-up to DTR in my opinion.
Just my $0.02.

Before you buy.
It received poor reviews by almost all major game reviewers. Others decided
to simply NOT waste time reviewing this POS. Because yes, if we talk about
racing simulator it's very, very, very poor.

Good summary JB. I rated it C-- but forgot to consider that it was 19$. I
kept waiting for more and more, and it never showed up :(

So, now that I've bought Swamp Buggy Racing, I think my faithfulness to
Wizard Works should now be rewarded with a truly worthy successor to
DTR!
