Oh, good sir, you wound me!  Cheating?  Me??  I merely take full advantage
of what the game is capable of.  Tell me that creative interpretation of
the rules isn't an integral part of the real NASCAR series. :-)

Seriously, though, somewhere around 193-194 alone and 195 in the draft.

One time I hit 230 mph on the backstretch at Talladega on Hawaii... it
was set to random weather, and there was a 60 MPH wind!  Made for a huge
pileup in turn 3 as all the cars blew into the wall...and going into the
turn at 230 didn't help.  :-)

With the restrictor plate removed and playing over Kali..does this give
incompatiable tracks?
Thanks!

Ok, that figures.  Didn't think you were doing it with 1.21 .   Anyway,
What I do is watch where the AI cars are running, and try to drop just a
little lower.  So far, I can beat them at 105%, but it takes me a few laps
( like 20 or so!! ) To catch them from pos: 39.  Makes it more fun that
way.

Well, to keep kicking the proverbial dead horse, my top speed at Talladega
is 205, that is while drafting. Can usually hit 201 solo at the end of the
straightaway. Version 1.21, plate on.

That's exactly what I said.  Taking off the plate is not in itself
cheating, as long as you enable the AI cars to keep up and give close
racing.  It's not the same as god mode.  You are just speeding up all of
the cars, hence you get no advantage.  If you keep the AI's running 195's
while your lapping them running 215's then we have a problem.

Only when these speeds are used as a basis of comparison (without mention
to the conditions under which they were obtained) to other human drivers is
it wrong.

Try IndyCar II with Talladega, and you will make a run at >250 mph
in the long straight..

I ran a 199.980 in the draft on Hawaii.  Didn't even know it either
until the race was over and I wiped the sweat from my palms if you
know what I mean..... :)

The only way to run fast at Talladega is with the temp at 120...until I
changed to that temp I could only run 193-194s.  Now with the change I
have run in a draft 199s a few time but still havent been able to break
into the 200 lap times.  I can usually qualify about 197.000 with the gift
setup found on Aol at Simulation racing.

My take was he interpreted that everyone was saying they were good at
Talladega in part because they could hit 215 down the backstretch.  So
he was questioning how good they were because he could go faster than
that at Michigan.

Right?

I turned a lap at 198.8 leading with no draft.  I suspect that with a
draft I could turn 200 easy. Switch the spdway line in the text file
from 0 to 1 and you can turn laps at 215 to 220.  Changing this line
removes the restrictor plate.

Nobody does 215 on the back stretch with the restrictor plate.  205
tops.

Version 1.21......

On Hawaii, in the lead....I have turned 198.8 several times, and this does not thrill
me.

On Hawaii, in a good draft, and what I mean by good is that the driver(s) in front and
behind, stay in line lap after lap, I have run well over 200 MANY times.  This thrills
me.

The above was in MULTI.EXE?  Pretty good.  No thanks on the restrictor.
Been there, done that.  Stick with what they give me.  Leave the text and
sector editors to those who feel they need them.
