New PDPI L4, anomolies

I just installed my PDPI L4 a few hours ago.  I have some thoughts and
issues with this card.
First, it is incredibly smooth.  I noticed the control input improvement
right away.  However, some things surfaced...and any thoughts on these
matters is welcome.

1.    GOOD; I can now calibrate my Nascar Pro with seperate axis in the dx6
game controllers screen.
BAD;    Nascar99 doesn't seem to support split axis.  the controller
screen in N99 responds to seperate inputs, but when I hit the track, I get
no response from the throttle.

2.    GOOD; GPL is much better with the split axis, using the generic input
driver.
BAD;    However, when I go online with GameSpyBoy, and I join a
race, GPL insists on using the directx driver, and I must recalibrate
controller before connecting to race.

I would like to use seperate axis in both N99 and GPL.  I would like to use
the generic/papy input drivers in both sims.  How do I do these things?

NR1999 works with a split axis controller. It doesn't make use of the split
inputs but just averages them together. But it does work.

I also read somewhere that Papyrus highly recommended using the DirectX
driver for online racing as the generic driver would probably cause more
disconnects.

Should be able to do that in windows. I can, same wheel and dx6. Do not use
propanel.

N99 does not support seperate pedals and I haven't seen a patch.

Got me ther since I haven't tried a pdpi.

To switch from GPL to N99 I go to windows game controllers and remove seperate
and add combined. Once done I don't need to recalibrate when switching later.
I use the gameport an a SB live. Good Luck.

Don't know about the split axis issue.

As I understand it, the generic input in GPL uses Papy's own timing loop
to read the controller directly. Doing this will negate almost all the
advantages of the PDPI card, because it will be acting as an analogue game
port, bypassing all the digital input circuitry that you paid for!

So, I think you really should be using direct, which will go via the
PDPI driver, and give you true digital input.

I have an L4 on order, should be more certain of this once I have it
in my hands (but PDPI are being very slow at the moment).

(snip!)

Does N2 not support separate axis also?  They are basically the same
game engine.  I'm thinking of building my own pedals and was going to
put each pedal on it's own axis, but I guess I'll have to rig up a
switch to change from single to dual axis mode.

I'm a dope.  N99 does support split axis for gas and brake.  I had to select
TH Nascar Pro w/sep gas and brake in W95 DirX game controllers, then
calibrate it.  then recalibrate the wheel from within N99, then (and here's
where I screwed the pooch before) reassign the new axis's to tasks.  Now N99
is using split axis controls on my new PDPI L4.  Cool.

Not true.... N99 DOES support seperate pedals...

Bill / Amish on TEN

I have also use my PDPI in seperate mode with N2, N99 and NROS.
