YES!!!

Yes the description for the reccomended machine on the
box is very poor. But the game itself is awesome.

Again, is this person asking an academic question, or are they looking
for advice on what to buy? If this person is looking for advice on
what F1 sim to buy but they only have a system with an ATI video card,
for example, with no Rendition or Voodoo support, is "GPL" STILL a
valid answer to this person's question??
Something for us all to think about when newbies come asking questions
like this. When these kinds of questions come along, they're usually
from people looking for insightful advice, not personal preferences.
Yes, we all may prefer GPL to a lot of other sims, and GPL may be more
realistic, but does that make it the BEST F1 sim? Is GPL really
graphically superior to F1WGP, for example? Does GPL do a better job
of modeling the new USGP track at Indy than F1 2000? Is the Minardi
team modeled more realistically in GPL than it is in MGPRS?
See my point?
Again, the original question was indeed poorly-stated, but that alone
doesn't mean that we should respond with what may well be bad advice
for the person asking the question.

There no more problems :-)

That is NO excuse for putting out a piece of junk like F12000.
BTW, when you say top notch simulation, I guess you're not referring to AI
cars crashing out on formation laps and deliberately trying to pass you...
THROUGH you!
I had quite high hopes for this, but the only good thing to come out of the
box was the Indianapolis track (to experience it).

Seems like as long as we steer clear of the IRL/CART issues, we can
find other things to agree on!

I don't know in fact WHAT kind of answer Mr. Pete Johnson was looking
for when he posted that question, but my point is, neither did the rest
of you, yet the FIRST response (and the first two follow-ups) indicated
that "Grand Prix Legends" was it, period, end of story, no further
questions, Your Honor.
I probably made a bigger deal out of it than was necessary, but are we
a newsgroup here, or are we The International GPL Mutual Admiration
Society?
Uh, come to think of it, never mind that last question . . .

Before you buy.
GP3 will not be perfect (it will be shot down by many in r.a.s. no
doubt), but THAT will never ever happen to it.
JoH
A whole bunch of people happen to think that GPL *is* the best F1 sim
to-date and if somebody asks, that will be their answer. Too bad
you've got a problem with that, but that's what life in the real world
is like. You should try and get used to it...
