Thanks to our friend Annie at Sierra, we've got a sneak preview of Papyrus' upcoming release NASCAR Racing 2003!  Check out the
Articles/Features section of The Pits, we've got the whole scoop on what N2003 will really be, complete with new screenshots,
actual driving notes, and even a movie!  Enjoy!

Cheers!

To be honest, the on track graphics look exactly the same as N2002. Of
course screenshots can often be misleading.

I think the part about the accelerated fuel and tire wear feature is kind of
funny

Done years ago in other sims.

Are others wondering if this demo will reach us before the full game is
released?

Actually there's lots of graphical addition that I can see.  The graphical
looks have taken a step forward, not a big one but still one towards
realism.  I just wonder why Sierra didn't release screenshots of full field
with all the graphics on instead of those there are on the web.  There's
about NO promotion or marketing for NR2003.  Heck, the Papy website almost
has NO mention of it.

One way or another, those graphics will all be turned OFF by me.

Graphics, smaphics..........hope something real is done with it.  I.e.,
damage model, collision code, drafting model...........etc.,etc.

To me the only thing that Papy has left out over the past couple versions is
the accelerated fuel and tire wear.  Heat and NT2003 both have it and that
is probably the only reason either of them spent more than a week or so on
my hard drive.  I'm glad Papy included this for us folks that can only run
25 to 50 percent races because of time and I think it will be cool for
online too, but if anyone doesn't like it, just don't use it.

Thanks,
Rick Miller

No wondering to it.  It has been stated it'll be out post-release.

Yes, but if it's completed and been given to web sites, it wouldn't surprise
me if we see it soon. There's already a thread where someone says they may
have it.

I read that after responding to you.  Here's hoping it comes to pass!

I think Dave's comment above is kind of funny.  Done (what feels like)
years ago in other N2K3 threads.

So when are these other sims going to spend as much CPU time on their
physics engines?  When are they going to have 43 car multiplayer -
Papy's only had it for what, 6 years?

Yay, Papyrus is late to adding arcade features to their sim.  Now we
just need to get other developers to add sim features to their arcade
games.

Might want to check out the papy site. I saw a like for it but since ***
sites are blocked at work it wouldn't do me any good to try it.

Forget all this distracting sim talk, let's get back to the No-JapCar/Xena
*** thing.  Can't believe it took three whole days for that thread to
bear fruit... ;-)

N2002 is arguably the best racing sim available today, no reason to think that N2003 wont be at
least marginally better.  Instead all you do is *** and moan.  Wait for it to come out instead of
pre-judging like a whiny little....never mind.
