While it is technically not an auto simulator, I'm hoping someone in
this group can give me a recommendation on the game Grand Prix
Manager.
Is it any good?  It appears that there is now a version 2 out and the
original is being "blown out" at $24.  Has anyone played both versions
and should I pick up the cheaper older one or spring the full bucks
for the new and improved one.

Thanks,
Gary

Be warned that Grand Prix Manager is full of bugs that never got
corrected and make the game close to impossible to play.

GPM 2 seems to have its fair share of bugs, too, so I would steer clear
of the two of them.

I've not seen or heard of a new version of GPM. I do know that the first one was
a complete and absolute waste of money and time! Don't bother. I believe it was
released just to keep our minds off of the fact that GP2 was running WAY late.
It has lots of bugs. Some are very un-realistic. There was a fix released very
soon after the game hit the shelves. I never tried it, for I was so disappointed
with the game as a whole.
Maybe others can shed some light on the new release, but I'll pass on buying
this one.

Gary -

I played with both GPM and GPM II a bit last spring ... managed to develop
a fair appreciation of GPM II, it seemed to have addressed some of the more
annoying features and glaring problems in the original.  The genre isn't
one that really rocks my boat, particularly with the overhead view mode
when you get to the race track, but what was there seemed to hang together
pretty well.  Given a choice I think you'd do better with the sequel ...
