Grubbat steals a win at the Monster!

Great job everyone.  I saw allot of give in take all race.

Today was our first "no racing to yellow" rule race.  Everything seemed to
work out fine.

Just to be sure we're all on the same page lapped cars stay low and can pass
all cars on the lead lap but not other cars on the same lap.  Lead lap cars
stay high and gradually slow to a safe speed.  Keep at least a full second
gap till you take the yellow then close it up to the normal .5.

Were also talking about having a no yellow 25% race prior to the real race
just so guys can get in some racing/practice in a more informal event.

Thanks.
My first win with the Grubbat dodge. Practice went very well for the
dodge team but the track changed during qualifing and grub believed that he
left some on the table.
As usual, Ginger laid down some good laps at the start of the race and
almost lapped the grubbat dodge but were saved by the first yellow flag. We
brought the ole girl in for some much needed adjustements and went back out
to ride around with Joon. That second long run had the grubbat dodge picking
off spots in the lineup and at the next to last yellow, we were sittin
pretty at 5th place.
The studmonky didnt have anything better to do, so unbeknowest to me,
rode shotgun for what would be the most exciting spot in the house. At the
next to the last yellow, the grubbat dodge team decided to take 2 tires and
gain track position with only 11 laps to go. While going down pit road, grub
noticed that ginger didnt pit and changed pit strategy to 4 tires only, no
air pressure adjustment. Leaving pit road ahead of davegf and mitch proved
critical. At the restart, with only 10 to go, a bunch-up at the s/f line
allowed the grubbat dodge to gain precious positions and come out of turn 2
in third place with daveGF hot on the grubs rear. Man were those 4 tires
hooking up, because the grubbat dodge was eating at kyleroberts bumper. At
one point, the grub had to brake to keep from rolling through the corner too
fast and hit kyle, and almost allowed daveGF the perfect opprotunity to
stick his nose underneath. This was not the case as the grub accelerated
high through the corner and closed that door only to close in on Kyleroberts
rear again.
Grub radioed in that Ginger was getting loose on the exits and grub knew
that the time was near for the passover. Unforturely, ginger got loose and
partical contact was made with Kyleroberts and a 'bump and run' turned into
a yellow flag with only 4 laps to go! Not satisified with second, grub
established radio contact with kyleroberts and suggested that he pit.
Kyleroberts attempted to pit, then coming to his senses, attempted to enter
the track again, and then, wham, pile drove the pit entrance wall right in
the middle of his radiator ending his day. The grubbat dodge rolled accross
the s/f under yellow with their first win and studmonkey was going
absolutely beserk in the backseat watching the whole thing live.

grub tired of typing. See yall next week.

 Not satisified with second, grub

I pulled off because I didn't want to take a win with my bumper.

That makes you a very admirable man there Kyle. I'm starting to feel guilty
about taking the win under a caution. I was hoping that you didn't hit the
wall on account of me.

I wanted to be there for this race, but Mother Nature had other idea's.

I am in Northern ***ia, right in the path of Isabel.

I lost power Thursday night at 5:30 pm and didn't see a watt again until
7:30pm SUNDAY night.

Every generator within a 500 mile radius was sold out a week before it hit.

I was on a waiting list a sears, and they finally got 50 in today.  I was
#33 on the list.  That was the good news.  The bad news was they didn't get
in any of the 'meagerly' priced $500 models (they were pretty much sucked up
out of existance by everyone on the east coast long ago) and they only got
the $1000 6.3kw heavy duty models in.

Thinking I was never, ever going to go through 3 days without power again
(Insert joke here - "How do you kill a geek?"), I bought one anyway.  Don't
know how I'm going to pay it off, but I have enough power to run two houses
now :)  The power guy on the street saying it could be another week before
we have power back was the deciding factor.

Of course, the power came back 10 hours later.  Doh!

Oh well.  I'm ready for the future :)

I was looking forward to this race, too :(

Now all we have to do is get rid of this damned "Boil Water" directive.  The
water plants lost power and they are worried about contamination.

Question - Why in the hell isn't something so fundamentally important not on
it's own backup power system ?

-Larry

Just checked out the race replay.  Big thanks to Mitch.  That quick dab of
the brakes just before the start finish line at the first yellow, allowed me
to get back on the lead lap.  I was hoping you had the f2 screen on, and
could see me trying for the line:-)  thanks again.
