f1rs - gp1 wheel

f1rs - gp1 wheel

Thanks to ALL who replied and gave advice regarding not being able to
calibrate my wheel.

You may be pleased, but not as pleased as myself, to learn that it is now
working fine and dandy.

I reloaded the game and am now able to calibrate the wheel in both win95
control panel and the thrustmaster pro panel.   I also had to use the
adapter that came with the wheel to achieve this.   Do not need this to
drive in Gp2, just the F1rs.

Thanks again to all. I love this newsgroup.

Gary,

Glad to help! Yeah, this newsgroup is pretty cool if you take the time to wade
thru some of the negative stuff. I've learned a great deal in here about racing
sims and hardware, helping me to be a better racer, which ,I believe, is the
goal of about everyone in here.

Strange about your having to use the adapter for the GP1  in F1RS and not GP2.
With my first GP1 I didn't need the adapter for either sim, and with my new
GP1, I DO have to use the adapter for BOTH!

I think I missed some of the posts in this thread and am wondering how
to get my GP1 working properly in F1RS. The wheel works fine in all other sims
but F1RS has put the throttle/brake on the buttons and gearshipt on the paddles.
Is there some way of re-mapping the controls from within F1RS as I dont
really want to change the setup in win95 because the mapping is right for other
games like TOCA etc

Thanks in advance

Mike

I had the same.

Just change around the buttons like so.

Turn left make it button 3
Turn right make it button 4

Gears up buttons 1
Gears down button 2

You should then be able to make your left and right axis via the wheel turns
and the brake and gas via the paddles on back of GP1 wheel.

Good luck
