GPL 1.1 patch (which should be out soon) contains FF support, based around
the MS wheel.
If you wanna know full details of the patch, go to pretty much any of the
'enthusiasts' GPL sites and you'll see a link to the 1.1 readme.

"based around the MS wheel."
How you figured that one out?

Sorry, I was being relative. Compared to say, continental drift merging the
Western US with Eastern Europe, the patch will be here 'relatively'
soon.....

To quote straight from the FF section of the 1.1 readme:

"If you swerve back and forth at speed, you might notice that the force does
not seem to match what the car is doing--it is a little out of phase. The
default value seems to work best with the Microsoft wheel, other wheels may
require some tweaking."

There is a 1.1 patch due out anywhere between tomorrow 'til march
2010. Extensive testing is being carried out as we speak. Oh, and it
will include FF.

uh... the US and Europe are drifting away from each other! So they'd
have to drift right the way around the planet to merge again. So
on a relative time scale to that event, "soon" would imply something
along the lines of "within the next few million years". Most of us
are highly likely to be dead by this point however. But using this
same relative scale then we can all expect the patch "very nearly
instantly!" :)

On the other hand, this is highly irrelevent to anything and I
think I'm supposed to be working...

That's an interesting version of logic you use :)

The FF in GPL is written to work with DirectX FF, and it just
happens to be the case that of the FF wheels we tested, the MS
one seemed to feel best.
That's not saying it felt particularly great, however - I'm one
of those people who think FF is still quite a few years short
of being useful. Maybe I'm just picky.

Well, the Eastern US and Western Europe are anyway....

The Western US and Eastern Europe however...

Hi !

It seems that i've started a thread non-intentionally.

Well let's start another one :o)

Were can i found a readme about all the features in this Patch ?

Is there any support for SBLive or DirectSound ?

thanks !

Hi Grant!  Haven't heard from you in a while.  How's the job going?  Did you
make it through the winter okay?  And did you ever get online?  I've been
away from VROC myself for a while but I just got a Logitech WFF so I'm
getting back into it.  See you around!
