F1RS and online racing?

by Gostal Arceli » Tue, 20 Jul 1999 04:00:00

I just install a Logitech wingman formula force wheel. Wow, this wheel is
great, although I am having a hard time re-adjusting to using pedals. I used
to have a TM grand prix I. The pedals could be a little better, but I have
been told that by changing the spring, it improves the feel of the pedals.

Anyway, the wheel came with F1RS. I had not played with F1RS in a long time.
I was trying after months and months of playing to adjust to MGPRS2. Since,
I was curious to re-experience the difference, I re-installed F1RS.

This past week, I have been playing both mgprs2 and F1RS. I still have not
been able to get the same out of mgprs2. I like to compare it, to the same
things F1 drivers are complaining about these days. The mgprs2 model is just
a little too difficult, if you are not perfect, you tend to crash, or
significantly affect your lap times. It may be more realistic, or a better
simulation with respect to physics, but...without the extra sensory input
you get in real driving, it becomes difficult.

I think F1RS is more forgiving, and probably more enjoyable, specially for
people who cannot devote that many hours to the computer.

Anyway, Is there a game service for F1RS like there is for Monaco Grand
Prix?

Is the only option to play online F1RS, is it still with the Kali service?
and does anyone still play online?

Thanks,
Gostal
