GPL trainers?

Once again excuse my ignorance...I keep seeing talk of the
trainers...specifically the "Lotus trainer"....I am not aware of how to use
this car...is it a download from somewhere? I have been trying to tame the
beast...but if it comes in training mode.....maybe this is GPL lingo I
havent picked up on yet?............Thanks,

Lee

In GPL you have three car "class" options. The "Trainer", the
"Advanced Trainer" and the "Grand Prix".

Without getting too technical they are rated by power
and grip. The Trainer has the least power and least grip,
the the Advanced Trainer has more power and more
grip but not as much as the Grand Prix car.

Mostly you see these cars referred to as F2 (Advanced
Trainer) or F3 (Trainer) or F1 (Grand Prix)

Unfortunately the Trainers are not really that much easier
to drive  than the GP cars, and all are equally difficult to
drive fast IMO.

The Trainers are a little easier to get to grips with as
you do not have the huge power and torque of the GP
cars.

Remember to give yourself a couple of laps to warm
up your tires as the grip level increases substantially.

See the subject titled "interview with Maxx"  right above this one, great
article.  Switching to the FD class has really made the sim more enjoyable
for myself.   Also a real nice web site.

Good Luck

Thanks J.J.

I was going to mention FD as what I think the real "Trainer" should
have been but iut's quite an involved subject.

The guys at that site are in the process of putting together a full
explaination of how to get setup in FD, how to adapt setups,
how to adapt driving style etc. ..
