Running N2002 with a MS Sidewinder Force Feedback Wheel. Just switched the
pedal setting from combined to separate, now it seems that the brake pedal
is much more sensitive, is this common?  What is the best setting? Also when
racing on line, I see some cars sitting still, spinning the rear tire, how
are they doing this, is it helping heat up the tires?

Make sure you re-calibrate under Windows then NR2002 after switching
from combined to split-axis.  Usually the calibration screen pops up
automatically in NR2002, but guess it didn't.

Sounds possible.  With it set to combined you can't hit the brakes
while you're hitting the gas, so it's possible that there were times
you thought you were braking but actually just let off the gas or
thought you were braking hard but really just braking a little.

Separate.  Being able to use both pedals will help keep the car
balanced which leads to faster more consistent laps.

They're gunning the throttle with both the brake and clutch depressed
then letting go of the clutch.  No, it doesn't heat the tires up *at
all*, it's damn annoying, and I wish that it would burn the rear tires
up more to discourage people from doing it.  I've run at least 500
races online over the past year and a half and I don't want to even
get into the number of times I've been taken out on the grid before
the pacecar even moved because of some ***ing moron getting all manly
with the clutch like they're driving a 70's pimp-era firebird.

I've run at least 500

Thats because the pimps didn't know how to drive sticks.  But I agree, since the kids nowadays drive
front-wheel drive no-power automatics, they've got to get their jollys off somehow.  I just wish it
wasn't in the races I join.
