On yesterdays Screen Savers viewers poll on ZDTV, 99% of the people who
responded said they would not be upgrading. The whole ID function of the PIII
seems to have people spooked. I don't fully understand how this works, but it
all smacks of Big Brother to me. AMD K7's are going to be a huge hit if Intel
retains this function in the PIII.

I wasn't too worried till I heard that a German trade rag claims they've
figured out how to turn ON the serial number WITHOUT a reboot! This is a
debacle just waiting to happen!

With the exception of Online Racing, I use a Mac G3 for everything.
That should explain why a Celeron doesn't impress me :)
And, though I think Apple's 2X faster claims are a bit, uh, out there,
the 450Mhz PII doesn't hold a candle either :)
