Are there any 3dfx voodoo2 cards that have good TV output.
I want to run Nascar and GPL on the Big 56" TV.
Thanks

Look at the Canopus Pure3D cards.  http://www.pure3d.com.

Canopus Pure 3D II.  You pay for it though.

The other thing you can do is get a Canopus AGP TNT to go with your
existing Voodoo cards and pass through from the Voodoo2  to the TNT (you
can only do this with TNT apparently) and then use the tv out from that.
The downside is that the Canopus is expensive but you will get better 2D
if you don't pass through a Voodoo2, all the benefits of TNT plus the tv
out facility of the Canopus. As others have said Canopus also do a tv
out Voodoo2, which is also expensive and doubley so if you want to have
2 Voodoo2s linked to give you SLI.
Bear in mind that both the resolution and frame rates supported by most
tvs are much less than you can get from very ordinary monitors. The
exception is if you want to shell out extremely large wads for a wide
screen gas plasma tv.
Cheers,
Paul

I bought a scan convertor like 3 years ago, and it supported up to 800x600, it
also will do 1024 by 768 (loosing some lines though).

The one i got is a TV Superscan 2 from ADS Technologies:
    http://www.adstech.com/

I've just looked at their page and it seems they now support up to 1280x1024 on
their Enhanced version but only up to 800x600 full screen, I guess they
interpolate to NTSC  (640x480). so some text is probably unreadable ot fuzzy,
but your tv can't display more :).

They also have added zoom and a remote control in that enhanced version. There
are probably other converters too, so I'm not recommending that particular one.

Cnet shopper.com has a link of places where to purchase these critters. they do
however run in the $200 range, but they'll work with any video card :).

my $.02.

The *real* downside is that those cards (the Canopus Spectra 2500) don't
exist!  (Canopus has abandoned the consumer-level hardware market to
concentrate on their big-bucks video editing toys.  See Tom's Hardware
page...)

After waiting 6 weeks for a 'back-ordered' (ie, nonexistent) Spectra, I
cancelled my order and bought Tom's recommendation, the Asus 3400TNT/TV
($149, Sunway Graphics, http://www.sg3d.com).  The card has a fan for
serious TNT-overclocking possibilities.  The TV-out is mediocre, I think.
Certainly far from perfect, though I'm not sure how good you can expect
for what is a $20 option.  (TV-less 3400TNT's go for $129 or so).

However, since it's a TNT board, it's currently useless for playing GPL.
And since it doesn't have Canopus's reverse pass-through (in which the
Voodoo output goes in to the TNT card), there's no way to get the Voodoo
output onto the TV.

No! Shame.

No, you can download the OpenGL drivers for GPL and use your TNT, but you
won't get anything like the Voodoo2 fps.

I've heard that Canopus were making a tv out from their 3dfx card but that,
too, maybe be fictitious....

I use a Canopus Pure 3D with TV out. It works great, and while it's fun at
parties, I don't use it that much, so  when I do buy the Pure3DII, I'll buy the
LX model with no TV out.
