Braking late, NR2002 doesn't seem to reward late brakers, and I'm having
a hell of a time trying unlearn that habit myself as I prefer to brake
very late and stay on the brakes for the first part of the turn in, not
only do I have to "relearn how to drive", I have to revise my setups as
well

Oh well, it could have been worse, NR2002 could have been a crappy sim
:-)

Ok, thanks.
Interesting news...
I was just practising New Hampshire, and I realised that I went just as fast
breaking earlier, saving the tires. Since you have done the same conclusion,
I feel strengthened in my belief that I should try to run smoother, rather
than push.

This sim is just soo dam good...
I cannot get myself to drive F1-2002. I bought it some week ago, but it
feels so 'arcadish' compared to N2002, so it just gathers dust...
Then I've tried to spend time with GPL, but the tyrenoise is soo tiresome.
N2002 is _the_ sim right now.

I can't _see_ anything.  Everything is blind, and by the time you see it it
has already kicked you in the ass, stolen your wallet, and left you for Road
Pizza.

A very progressive track :)

My main concern?

Getting hit in the ass-end.  Or hitting someone else in the ass-end.

I absolutely guarantee that this will be the #1 issue if we race this track.
Ass-ending...

I think we all need to make a pact that whatever happens during this race,
it will be forgiven upon it's completion.

We may even want to bar it's discussion in RAS after it's run :)

What was that CCR said?  "There's a bad moon on the rise" :)

I would NEVER ask this question about an Oval, but...

Are we allowed to use assists at road courses?  I.E. Traction
Control/Braking Assistance ?

I'm not sure what the rules are regarding this...

Why would you want to use em Larry?  I would think it would be more of a
hindrance than help.  I would say you are better off just learning the
track.  Take her slow, this track surely fits the saying "slow down to speed
up".

There's not enough time.

I can race without them, and the point isn't improving one's position.  Not
at all.  There isn't an assist that's been created (short of a rail system)
that will give me a chance at running near the top at this track.

The question is if it will help _everyone_ run a safer race, and possibly
help in preventing the people who can run this track fast do it with less
fear of getting run over by someone losing forward bite and spinning out in
front of them.

Like I said.  I can run without them.  It's just a basic question.

Just one little comment, I'm talking about road courses here, not ovals,
never ever take advice from me on the ovals :-)

Don't know about driving aids, but I would suggest setting the steering
ratio to 16:1. That helps a lot, IMO.

Cheers Jan, I will give it a try.  Admittedly, I was so taken aback by
being so far off the pace that I did some practice laps their - the only
track I've bothered practising on, I normally just run Championships -
and at least managed some low 1:23's, I think.
