I think we should stick to the cup schedule.  Just because it's hard
doesn't mean it's not gonna be any fun...

It's not that it's hard. The NASCAR cars handle like boats in mud on that
track, and clearly aren't designed for road course racing. It's slow and
tedious at SP. Not hard.

Also, as I mentioned to Eldred in another thread, if we follow the real cup
schedule, we are soon going to repeat tracks we've just recently run, some
for the third time while there are others that we haven't run yet. We've
even run SP already.

While I agree the default setups are not brilliant (I like the intermediate
setup best, actually), the cars themselves are not that bad at this track.
It takes a bit of adjusting from the usual roadcourse style (car doesn't
respond as quick as a single seater), but once you start "going with the
flow" as it were, they're pretty satisfying to drive at Sears Point, IMO.

True, on the other hand, might be good to try and gel as a group on known
ground.

They handle like shit *everywhere*...<g>

I'd say it's *possible*, but it's not high on my list... :-)

I agree.  I REALLY suck at the road courses and Sears Point is my
least favorite track but I have to vote to run it.  There will always
be tracks that some people hate and others like.  Turn off the yellows
for this one though.  If we are going to run it lets make the decision
soon because I will need a lot more than my usual 15-30 min of
off-line practice.  Takes a while to remember how to use my left
foot... :)

And not blow the tyres.  :)

I gravitated from GPL and had expected, after giving the old AI a good
tonking on the ovals, that SP was going to be my Piece de resistance, or
somesuch.  Anyway, I couldn't even get under 1:24 whilst the AI were
cruising around in the 1:21's.  It really does take so much more
practice to understand how to go fast on this track.

There seem to be only 1 or 2 dissenting opinions.  So, we run Sears Point -
40%, no yellows.
Ugh - I can hardly wait... :-)

Resist the urge to go deep into the slower turns... let it flow Peter. Guy
