GPL - Grip/downforce patch?

by Krunc » Sun, 08 Jul 2001 10:53:47

I know this isn't a true 'sim junkie' thing to do but I was wondering if
anyone has tried to produce a utility to allow changes to be made to grip
and/or downforce in GPL. I love GPL as it is but I also enjoy less
'realistic' driving games (just for fun stuff). The physics modeling is so
great in GPL it would be nice to see how it feels with more grip.

Cheers,

Sure there is.  It's called the FD class.  F2 cars with a lot of grip.
:-)  There's a lot of info on this group about FD, check it out!

Thanks for that. I've now setup FD class and love it!

I'm still hoping though that someone may produce a utility to allow
more parameters to be changed in GPL. Completely new carshapes,
variable grip, variable weight, etc. Not because I don't thinks its
already a great game but because I'm waiting for a 'car designer sim'
and I think the GPL engine would lend itself well to that concept. I'm
also a fan of 'modding' in FPS games where you can just about find
your perfect game style out there somewhere or if not, build it
yourself.
