GPL & Win2kPro

Hi guys,

Before you state the obvious, I know that this isn't a *** platform
really, but I'm wanting to take GPL "on-the-road" and this what I have
(must have) on my laptop.

The GPL install goes ahead without any problems.  However, when I run the
game, the loading sequence displays the GPL-loading screen, but bombs-out
straight back to the desktop when it tries to load the main page.  I've
installed the v1.2 & D3D patches, I don't need the FastCPU as I've only got
a 750MHz laptop.  I'm positive that others here have had it working on
Win2kPro, so I'm a bit baffled ... ??? :O(

So, can anyone spot the what I'm missing???  I appreciate any help, as I
really want to get this working! :O)

Many thanks,
MickeyB

M Maine,

In XP, right-click the gpl.exe file, select Properties and go to the
Compatibility tab. Then select -Run this program in compatibility mode
for:- and choose an operating system - for my PC it runs best in Win2k
mode ... which is slightly odd considering the original post I made! >O(

This should at least let you play the game, of course you may then find
other problems with the sound, etc - but it's a start, hope it works for
you! :O)

Cheers.

Have you got SP2 and the compatibilty mode fix?  If so have you tried
Win95/98 modes?
