F1GP2 Are there default setups for computer cars?

by Ian Batt » Wed, 25 Mar 1998 04:00:00

Does anyone know if the computer controlled cars have a setup for each
track, and is it possible to find out what this is?

I ask because I would like to be able to follow computer cars and try to
match their cornering speed but it is not easy unless you know you have
similar downforce as them.

Please e-mail answers!

Thanks,
Ian

no the comp cars don't really have setups, just valuesif you want to
match straight speed then do this:
    qualify
acc time for a min or two
press up or down arrows to scroll through cars
go to the longest straight on the course
observe AI speeds from in***pit view
set your 6th gear and rear wing to match

you can also use the gp2rl rear wing mins which are good IMO
1 at hock and monza
8 at mon and hung
4 everywhere else

enjoy!

The setup (and some other factors) of the computer cars is stored in the
trackfiles. You should visit Pieter's (Now Sjon's) GP2 site for a trackeditor in
development which allows you to change these values. There's also a small DOS
util available to do this. Look around on the site and you'll find what you
need.
