Step 1.  Practice offline.

Step 2.  Practice offline more..

Step 3.  When you can run comfortably with AI around 95% strenght then you
should be ready for some online runs.

Well duh Larry.  Knock knock anyone home?

My point is practice before even considering running in RASCAR.  It's really
not fair to the others to just "jump in" feet first without any offline
practice.  We should *ALL* be preaching offline practice before each race.

That's easy, because they run off and leave me in the dust.  Running at 95% is
just like driving solo...

Wow Eldred, you are Slow <vbseg>.

Seriously though E, there must be something wrong somewhere.  Are you pots
ok?  Is your wheel calibrated ok?  How can any GPL'er have so much
difficulty with this (ez) sim?  Hell GPL took some skill to run a lap.  Can
you be overdriving and smokin the *** off the tars?  What do you think
the problem is?  Is it something someone can help with?

>Wow Eldred, you are Slow <vbseg>.

Was this somehow a newsflash to you? :-)  Come on - you saw how everyone drove
away from me at Pocono...

I'm slow in GPL too.<g>
I've re-calibrated both in windows and N2k2.  I have a TSW wheel, so I have
decent hardware.  Pots were replaced a couple of months ago.  I have an athlon
1.2G system with V5, giving at least 37 fps.  So I have good hardware(system
and wheel set.  If it's not because of the monitor(17" Compaq), then there's
only one thing left...

but I do remember how we all drove away from you at Indy, dover...  Ooops
I'm trying to help here LOL.  Well so long as we have fun, thats whats
important!

A Compaq monitor.....no wonder you're off pace

FWIW Eldred, I replaced my V5 the other day with a Radeon 8500, the
increase in FPS seems to have improved my consistency, if not my out and
out speed

Beers and cheers

I hope that's not what I have to do - I can't afford it right now.

Yeah, well...  If I can't get more competitive I may drop out.  Conrtary to
popular opinion, it really *isn't* much fun driving around by yourself...

Sadly it sounds like youve already made your decision.  Youve hinted for
quite awhile now.  Is GPL *fun* to drive around by yourself?  Oh yeah it's
F1, no passing allowed lol.  (Just kidding F1-freaks)

If your interested Eldred I have a Geforce2 GTX 32MB I'd be happy to send
ya.  I wouldnt say its a huge improvement over your current V5 but a little.

So serious man, I was just playin in the previous thread btw..
