I FIND IT FASCINATING TO TEST THE EFFECT THAT DRINKING, ETC., HAVE ON MY
LAP TIMES, ESPECIALLY AT PLACES LIKE THE RING AND SPA.  YOU CAN
LITERALLY SEE YOUR REACTION TIMING, ETC., FALL OFF DRAMATICALLY.  BUT
DAMN IT SURE IS A LOT OF DAMN FUN.  BY THE WAY:  FERRARI = TOSSABLE,
MAGNIFICENT.

After one beer I've noticed improved consistancy (mellows me out) with only
slight loss of reaction time. Better for the race than for qualifying. Its
seems easier to find a rhythm.

BTW, you don't need TO SHOUT. ;-)

Tell me about it.  Every time I want to have a beer or two with dinner,
I have to stop and think "Do I want to drive GPL tonight?"  Maybe GPL will
end up cutting ab inch or two off my waistline.

Interesting.  I have found that *** definitely reduces lap times but I lap a
little more consistently.  With just a little weed, I can lap very consistently
and at good speed.  mtc.

I ran my first online race after a bottle of good red wine. I won it -
at Spa. I was so slow off the line , all the others messed up, and when
the dust setteled, I was first, and for the rest off the race I never
made any sudden movements, I mean I tried...but..<g>

I like to smoke a little ganja while racing. I may drive slower, but it sure
FEELS fast!

Now tell us what happens to your lap time when you are "DUI" _and_ you get
distracted.  Any sort of distraction will do--say a couple of people come
into the room and are talking to each other...

That might be fine and well for GPL, but I hear that the
reason NFS3 brought back the cops was to prepare
for the addition of the breathalyzer in NFS4... (USB
connection, of course...)

Be careful out there!

Hi,

sure
FEELS fast!

thats funny - there have been some studys in the netherlands about
pot-smoking and driving. they couldnt prove that it is really dangerous
(like drinking) because the found out that the pot-smoking drivers where
driving much more carefully than the clean drivers - Note: dont try this at
home ;.)

The only time I get to really get into GPL is when it's after work and
time to relax: which means getting baked and sometimes adding in a
little wine....(not too much,,, I've gotta be somewhat awake to keep
the car in line)
I really appreciate the concentration and sobriety it takes for Real
race car drivers,,,,,,but for me, well,, I do just fine in GPL.
and man is it fun!
I haven't decided yet if I'm slower or quicker under the influence(s),
but I would say there is a definite difference between *** and
*** .. and the illegal substance is much, much friendlier....

not to mention the obvious:  Dave Mansell has single handedly
legitimized the 'red eye' racing technique,,,,
who woulda' thunk it?

Hey! I've won the Indy 500 8 times. 6 of those were in varied stages of
stupor up to and including 'faced'. (sure I've won a lot of other things in
the same condition, but 500s always seemed the toughest)
I've also been told by people who can remember, that the best driving
they ever saw from me, were at times when I couldn't even stand up!  I don't
even think I can race anymore without a bottle of shnapps in one hand, and a
bong in the other. I just steer with my knees! :D##
Am I generally faster or slower or more or less consistent as I get more
trashed? It really depends more on my attitude than my condition. Actually
though, there does seem to be a point at which I can't seem to drive for
shit. I'm either too drunk or not drunk enough. No matter what, it still
takes the right frame of mind to reach "the ZONE", and ultimately, the only
way to learn how to drive drunk is Practice Practice Practice!
Just remember kids, it's OK in the *** world, but in the real world it
could end up in someone getting killed. DON'T DO IT! It's just not worth the
risk.
