GPL & Logitech Momo - Torque setting behavior

Sorry guys, but I have yet another force feedback question ....

In setting up my new Momo wheel, I have been experimenting with the
torque setting in the core.ini file. I started with the method of
turning your wheel all the way left or right when stationary and
supplying enough torque so that the wheel would gradually center itself
as you slowly drove forward (like in a real car).  However, I have
noticed a peculiar phenomenon.

Turn the wheel hard left while not moving and the wheel will stay there
just fine for a huge range of settings (torque from 200 to 1000), as
expected.  However, the behavior is very different when you turn the
wheel hard right. For settings from 200 all the way up to 800, the wheel
will center itself when turned right even with no forward motion.  Up
around 875 to 1000, the wheel will gradually move right and stop before
it centers. With settings that high, there is almost no force feedback
sensation while driving.

Is this normal behavior?

Note: this was done at Monza, both right in the pit stall and on the
front straight facing in both directions with the latest version of the
Wingman software 4.11c (November 2001).

Momo settings - Damping 0, Overall forces 100, Spring 100, centering
spring Off
Core.ini settings - damping 0, latency 0.02 (these don't seem to matter
for this)

The rest of it I have no explanation for, but that part at least makes
sense.  The torque setting in core.ini is the game torque that you want
to correspond to the max wheel torque.  IOW it works like a divisor, the
higher you make it, the weaker the force gets.  Making it less than 225
makes it stronger, but clips the peak values.

Yeah, I understand that part of it.  I was curious as to why the wheel would
center itself when stationary only with it turned full right. Has anyone
else seen this?

Could it be related to assymetrical setup?  Depending on how the car is setup it will be easier to
turn one way or the other just like a N4.
