I am considering buying the Logitech MOMO wheel which has a gate gear
shift.

Before I do so, as I would only want to use this feature for GPL not
F1 sims where I would prefer to use the paddle, does GPL support the
shifter?

I hope someone using it on GPL can let me know.

And any other info on this wheel would be great too.

It isn't a gated shifter and yes it works with GPL.  It can also be used on
the left or the right of the wheel.

The shifter is sequential on the MOMO Racing Wheel..

You should also be aware that the paddle shifters on the MOMO Racing
Wheel are a bit flimsy.  Mine broke (ie - became non-functional) after
only 6 weeks.  This is apparently a common problem with the MOMO Racing
Wheel, caused by a design flaw.  No such porblem with the MOMO Force
Wheel though.  (But no shifter with the MOMO Force, either).

I wasnt all that keen on the shifter anyway. So I will opt for the
stronger paddle version.

Just bought the Momo Force myself and after a few laps at Monza
absolutely love it :D

Next on the agenda is the Act-Labs USB GPL shifter as I do prefer the
stick shifter for that added bit of realism in GPL \ Nascar sims.
