Just picked this up at a boot sale. Just wanted anyones opinions on to
see whether it's worth persevering with. Does it support the TM Formula
T2 wheel?

Thanks,
Mike

I have Need for Speed and love it.  In fact I have Nascar Racing also and
I usually run NFS more than Nascar.  NFS requires a shorter time
investment per sitting.  I use the TM2 wheel/pedals which work great with
both games.  In NFS, I recommend you set the wheel turn to match the
incar wheel turn.  Makes for better control.

Just installed NFS the original I think.  I don't see anywhere to
calibrate a wheel.  Does it support wheel configurations?

Tell it you have a joystick, then calibrate it by pushing the
pedals and turning the wheel.  It'll work fine.

There are 4 versions of NFS:
NFS, NFS SE, NFS2, NFS2SE  (SE = special edition)

I bought NFS SE and NFS2. NFS and NFS SE are nearly same, one for
DOS only and SE for Win 95/DOS, NFS2 and NFS2SE for Win95 only.

NFS2 has better graphics than NFS SE. All versions support keyboard,
joystick, wheel (like T2). Driving NFS SE is much more fun than NFS2.
There are many free additional tracks available for NFS SE.
Drive feeling (different for each car type) is better in NFS SE than
NFS2.  NFS2SE had police chasing action, which has been dropped in NFS2.

Between NFS2 and NFSSE I would decide for NFSSE, NFS2 has more in common
with games like Screamer II or RAC Ralley. NFSSE is more like Testdrive.

Accolade has created a new Testdrive version. Demos are available
for NFS, Testdrive, and many other simulation games in WWW. Can easily
be found at game sites with search engines.

I don't know much about NFS2SE. A huge demo is available in net.
Hope it is much better than NFS2.

The demo  for NFS II SE is not that big....only 6.5megs
(for me any way)
I downloaded it and ...... ITS AMAZING!!!
my PURE3D card ran the demo flawlessly!!!
All I can say is, I can't wait until Nov.
That is when it should be released!!!

It's graphics are great, but gameplay still sucks, they haven't
restored the NFS1 features (like open roads and cops) that made it so
great.

Yes and yes. It's still to this day the best arcade racer ever
produced for the PC. You can also download dozens of modified tracks
from the net (I created a bunch of them myself).

A wheel is just a joystick in a circle shape. Use calibrate joystick to
calibrate a wheel. Make sure you use the connector so that gas=forward
brake=backward and it should work. However, you cannot gas and brake at
the same time in NFS using a wheel setup.

Can you tell us if they left in the***pit view in NFS2SE ?
I've heard rumours they took out the***pit view in the new version.

I'll still probably not buy it due to no cops and no open roads, but
I will SURELY not buy it if they took the***pit view out even if I see it
on sale.

Looking forward to TD4, hoping they took the best features out of the TD
series and NFS1 and added 3dfx graphics to produce the best racer yet,
but prepared to be disappointed as I have been with NFS2 + X-Car +
Int Rally Championship.

Cheers.

if it is NFS SE game installed under Win95 -> then calibrate the wheel
in win95 settings of joystick, otherwise somewhere in the game.
I remember that it asked for T2 calibration at each start of program.
