Thrustmaster Ferrari FF - what are the extra paddles for?

I've got a Ferrari Force Feedback Wheel and have been puzzling over the
extra paddles under the gear shifters - what are they for  'cos I don't seem
to be able to get any of my games (N3,GP3,etc.) in Win2k to see that they
are programmable for a keystroke?  Are they functional?

aren't they the "throttle" and "brake" if you don't want to use the
footplate ?

Hi,
Just disconnect your pedals, and you can use the "extra" paddles as throttle
and brake, while your fitting your new pedal springs, because break they
will!!!! Well, mine did anyway after just 2 months use, Grrrrrrrrrr!!! I
took the lot back and exchanged for a whole new boxed set. Despite that
annoying spring break, I love this whell and rate it most highly :O) Good
luck.....

Mad Max :O)

There are 4. 2 analog paddles that can be used for gas/brake and
2 button type smaller paddles that can be used for shift-up/down
or what ever you'd like! :)

Thanks for the info.  I see why they didn't work in any games - they only
work as throttle and brake when the pedals are disconnected.  Not a bad
idea - bit like a vintage car with the throttle on the wheel or an invalid
car!!  I hope my pedals last longer, I do like them - less travel than my T2
pedals so easier on the legs.  My arm muscles are taking a beating on N3
though, all that FF pressure going through the bends.

Has anyone done a config file for the Ferrari FF wheel for N3? I thought it
would be good to use the hat buttons for selectin the function key commands.
I like to be able to switch between position, tyre wear and fuel easily, but
taking my hand off the wheel and fumbling for the keyboard has resulted in
quite a few close shaves with the oval walls.

You can use them as brake and accelerator.  But they only work if the pedals
are unplugged.
